From French wine to Kentucky Bourbon
Saint Cloud ™is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Crafted by Ray Walker, With experience making Grand Cru wines in Burgundy, France. Ray has excelled in making wines of character, borne of handwork and tradition, bringing a unique vision to the World of Kentucky Bourbons. Saint Cloud is a labor of love, created to bridge the connection to Ray’s family which dates back in Kentucky since the early nineteenth-century.
Ray’s great-great-grand father, Louis Walker, fought in the Civil War for Kentucky’s “Company 48” Mounted Infantry, signing up for duty the same day that the battle of Gettysburg began. Louis’ father, James, was in the War of 1812, a battle that saw the U.S. allied with France. As such, James would become a Francophile, giving two of Louis’ brothers French names, Napoleon Bonaparte Walker (a Union Soldier in the Civil war) and Lafayette Walker. Their other brother, Samuel Houston Walker was also in the Civil War, fighting for the Confederacy at the same time.
Our Bourbon is unique for many reasons, one of which is refinement. Produced on a micro- scale, we maintain quality and refinement above anything else. Our Bourbon is produced in a traditional manner, using a pot-Column Hybrid Still, without the use of many other modern aids and equipment.
We use techniques that maintain the tradition of more than two centuries of Bourbon production, while using a perspective that comes ONLY from making Grand Crus in one of the World’s top wine regions. Refinement, elegance, and precision are the hallmarks that you can expect from Saint Cloud Kentucky Straight Bourbon.
