What does Art have to do with Bourbon?

No one experiences art in the same way. Even color, simple lines or single brush strokes can be interpreted in a singular way for each viewer that gazes upon it. Different colors for example can have a physical effect on the viewer. Abstrakt and Chroma are both excellent explorations for Saint Cloud. With the bold usage of color, we have torn away from the previous confines of design that pushed our color palettes towards an alignment with amber, the color of bourbon. This was too restrictive, so we had to paint the entire bottle. With Abstrakt, we are able to press even further with literal art placed on the bottle. The goal was to push emotion. I’d like to say that we accomplished this and more!

We love bourbon. We also love art. There is something beautiful in creating and working in a way that can be perceived in a virtually infinite number of ways. We pick barrels that “say something” to us. There are no committees with any of the decisions being made at Saint Cloud. It just wouldn’t be fun that way. The choice of art and usage of color comes from the same thought of how the barrels are selected, by feel. Aligning Saint Cloud with art is just another way for us to express ourselves in exploring what personally fascinates us. Truth be told, much of what you see being played out at Saint Cloud have been reoccurring themes of interest since childhood. Who knows what the future will bring. We’re just happy doing what we love!
